Welcome Aboard! Come explore the beautiful Strait of Juan de Fuca, famous for its Killer Whales, sea lions and bald eagles. Enjoy the majestic views of the snow-capped Olympic Mountains and the City of Victoria.

THANE is a 17m (55') OA gaff rigged ketch built in Victoria, BC in 1978. Heavily framed and planked in yellow cedar, she is modeled after Joshua Slocum's SPRAY, the first vessel to circumnavigate single-handed in 1895. Thane is federally inspected and CSI approved to carry up 20 passengers.

Our experienced skipper and crew, along with sea kindly FAIRE HEIDE, provide a comfortable and safe excursion on our local waters. Sit back and relax, or join in learning the skills of sailing a “Gaff Rigged Schooner”.  Arriving at various island destinations, activities include kayaking, swimming, hiking, beachcombing, clam digging, etc. 
Seals, sealions, whales, dolphins, eagles, and many other kinds of birdlife have been sighted from our decks. We can daytrip up to 12 people, and have accommodation for 4 overnight guests.
