We are truly blessed. Extraordinary shoreline and wonderfully sheltered waterways are but minutes away and beach accesses abound. And we have the advantage of both salt water and fresh water (Elk Lake, Thetis Lake).  So, wherever you are in Greater Victoria, getting to the water for a kayaking excursion is a leisurely outing, at most a short drive. We are a small group, a core of five plus a few extra staff in the summer, and paddling is our business. We have an enormous breadth of experience and delight in introducing newcomers to the world of recreational and whitewater paddling. GORGE KAYAKING CENTRE

Victoria and its surrounding area offer some of the best kayaking in the world from the beautiful white sandy beaches of Sidney Spit and the nearby Gulf Islands to the protected and tranquil waters of the Gorge Waterway, Portage Inlet and Victoria's vibrant Inner Harbour. The Gorge Kayaking Centre provides convenient access to the historic Gorge and from there to Portage Inlet or Victoria Harbour and even Esquimalt Lagoon. We can also pick you up from your hotel and transport you and our kayaks to a launch area to explore the islands just off the coast and stay overnight if you provide camping gear.

From the cultural history of Victoria's Inner Harbour to the rugged natural beauty of Vancouver Island's coastline, our area has some of the best kayaking in the world, and Ocean River Sports can get you there! Many of our tours are appropriate for new paddlers and include basic instruction. Our itineraries are flexible and allow for a variety of paddling experiences to suit a range of skills. Maximum group size is 8 guests with 2 guides. We offer one of the widest range of kayak programs on the West Coast. Our guides have extensive experience on local waters, certification, and kayak safety training. We work in small groups with no more than 10 people with two guides at a time. Many of our classes are smaller. We are committed to maintaining a professional and relaxed experience on the water.

Situated on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Comox Valley Kayaks and Campbell River Kayaks are the perfect places to start your kayaking adventure from. If you are heading north to Johnstone Strait, Nootka Sound, Quatsino Sound or further our Campbell River store, just a two minute drive off of the island highway, is perfectly located for you to pickup and drop off your kayaks.
Looking to getaway for a day? Our Comox Valley store is located right next to the Courtenay River. Launching from this location is ideal for beginner paddlers looking to learn the basics. Our friendly staff will assist you launching your kayaks as well as returning the boats. We strive to make your experience a positive one. Our satellite location at Heriot Bay Inn on beautiful Quadra Island is a great place to start if you are looking for a scenic day paddle.

Pacific Rim Paddling Company is in its 20th year of operating quality sea kayak tours in spectacular British Columbia on Canada's west coast. Explore the misty and mysterious Queen Charlotte Islands(Haida Gwaii), Canada's Galapagos. Or paddle with orcas in Johnstone Strait along the famous and beautiful Inside Passage.  Because we are committed to maintaining the highest standards of service possible, we have deliberately kept the size of our business small. Each year more than half our spaces are filled by returning clientele and their friends (not a few have said it's because of the meals!). No previous kayaking experience is necessary. Our groups are small, with a maximum group size of 8-10. Our guide to client ratio never exceeds 1:5 and we always have two guides on each trip to serve you and to minimize risk at all times.

The Island Outdoor Centre is one of Vancouver Island's premier kayaking centres. We run Introductory Kayaking Courses and CRCA approved courses, we rent the full range of Seaward kayaks and offer day tours in the area. It's one of the greatest paddling areas in the world, situated in Ladysmith, in the northern section of British Columbia's renowned Gulf Islands. In additionwe stock the full range of new Seaward kayaks and often sell kayaks from Seaward's demo fleet at reduced prices. We also stock a full inventory of Seaward kayak parts, including rudders, foot pedals, sliders, grab handles, cockpit covers, seat backs and seat bases. We also stock a range of gear for the active paddler, with skirts, neoprene booties, neoprene clothing and paddling jackets from Brooks, Seal Line dry bags, Aquabound paddles, neoprene from White's, PFD's from Serratus, pumps from Scotty, accessories from Northwater and roof racks from Yakima. The Island Outdoor Centre is a full service kayaker's store.  

Unlike the traditional camping based kayaking, our mothership takes us into remote places where kayaks rarely go. We have this privilege because of our vessel's speed and range, and the fact that we are able to paddle in some of the more pristine areas which do not have natural campsites. Instead, we cruise these beautiful inlets and anchor in quiet little coves. Our guests come aboard and relax… not spending time setting up tents and gear. If the weather turns foul we have a cozy environment… dry and heated. Our guest books rave about the vessel and the hospitality shown by her crew. Our kayaks are fast and stable 'doubles' designed by Necky for day excursions with an emphasis on safety. The trips are suitable for both novice as well as experienced paddlers with instruction provided by our qualified naturalist guides.
